MCP

Your library, in the tools you already use

In ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Cursor, or Grok Bot, say “save this to Prompt Studio” or “use my lighting prompt.”

One library, wherever you are working

MCP is a remote connection, so ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Cursor, and Grok Bot can read and write the same library you use in the workspace and on iOS. Prompt Studio does not run the language model. When you generate an image, the job is queued through the same generate flow as the workspace, using your Pro plan and credits.

Just say it

After you’re connected, you don’t have to learn a command. In ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Cursor, or Grok Bot, talk the way you already do.

“Save this to Prompt Studio”
The agent stores the prompt you’re on — and the outputs with it — in your library.
“Use my Midjourney lighting prompt”
The agent searches your library, loads that prompt, and uses it.

“Save this to Prompt Studio” stores the prompt you’re on, and the outputs with it. “Use prompt X from Prompt Studio” or “fetch my Midjourney lighting prompt” searches your library and uses what it finds. Grok here is the xAI chat. Grok Bot is the bot that can call the same library. Both connect with the URL below — there isn’t a plugin listing to install.

Connect

Add this address in your client. You will sign in with your Prompt Studio account the first time you connect. No API key.

Endpoint

https://mcp.promptstudio.app/mcp

Prefer this address. If it is unreachable, the same server also answers at https://ps-mcp.alecbabaei.workers.dev/mcp.

Cursor

Create .cursor/mcp.json in a project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json if you want it in every project. A url is streamable HTTP. If you already have other servers in the file, add this entry inside mcpServers instead of replacing the file. Then enable Prompt Studio in Cursor’s MCP settings. A browser window opens so you can sign in.

.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "prompt-studio": {
      "url": "https://mcp.promptstudio.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop’s config file runs a local command. mcp-remote bridges that to the remote server. You need Node.js so npx can start it. On Mac, edit ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json. On Windows, edit %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json. Merge this into an existing mcpServers object if you have one. Quit Claude completely, then open it again. The first connection opens a browser to sign in.

claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "prompt-studio": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "mcp-remote",
        "https://mcp.promptstudio.app/mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

You can also add the same URL as a custom connector in Claude (Settings → Connectors) if you would rather not edit the file. Sign-in is the same.

ChatGPT

Custom connectors are part of ChatGPT’s paid plans. In Settings, open Connectors (sometimes listed with Apps) and create a custom connector. If write actions are hidden, turn on developer mode in ChatGPT’s advanced settings first. Paste these fields, then sign in with your Prompt Studio account when asked. In a new chat, add the Prompt Studio connector before you ask it to search or save.

Custom connector

Name: Prompt Studio
MCP server URL: https://mcp.promptstudio.app/mcp
Authentication: OAuth

Grok, Grok Bot, and other clients

Grok (the xAI chat) and Grok Bot both use this same address, and so does any other client that speaks remote MCP. Choose streamable HTTP, not a local command, and let the client open Prompt Studio’s sign-in. You do not paste a token, and there isn’t a plugin listing to install.

Generic MCP client

URL: https://mcp.promptstudio.app/mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Authentication: OAuth (read and write)

Sign in with the account you already have

Use the same Google or email login as the workspace and the iOS app. The consent screen grants read and write access to your library — the prompts, folders, and files you already keep there. Nothing else on your computer is shared.

You can disconnect whenever you want, from the connector settings in ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Cursor, Grok Bot, or whichever client you used. Creating a Prompt Studio account is free if you do not have one yet.

What you can do

Ask in everyday language. The client calls the right action. Your chat app still writes the reply — these actions only touch the library.

You canWhat that means
Search and browseFind a prompt by wording, look through a folder, or open one with its files.
Save and editCreate a prompt, update it, move it into a folder, or remove one you own.
FoldersSee your folders and create a new one, within your plan’s folder limit.
References and outputsAttach a file or a note to a prompt — a reference you started from, or a result you want to keep.
Image generationQueue an image on a prompt you can edit, then check until it finishes. The result is saved on that prompt. This needs Pro and credits.
Credits and modelsSee your plan, your image-credit balance, and which image models your account can use.

Limits and questions

The same plan limits as the workspace apply here. Compare plans.

What can I do on the free plan?

The free plan includes unlimited prompts, one input and one output per prompt, up to 3 folders, and 5GB of storage. Creating more folders, or attaching more files than that allows, is blocked until you upgrade. Image generation needs Pro and credits.

Why was an image refused?

Image generation requires Pro and enough credits. The connection queues the job through Prompt Studio’s existing generate flow — the same path as the workspace. It does not run the model itself, and it does not hold the image provider key (FAL_KEY). Credits are spent when the job is queued, not while you check on it.

A file link stopped working. Is the file gone?

No. Links returned for files are signed and expire after about 24 hours. The file stays in your library. Open the prompt again to get a fresh link.

How should I add a file from my computer?

Prefer the signed upload: the client asks for an upload link, sends the file directly to Prompt Studio, then finishes the upload. Putting a large file into the chat as base64 often stalls the client — especially Grok Bot — and is only meant for tiny payloads.

I can open a shared prompt, but I cannot change it.

Viewers of a shared prompt are read-only. Editing, removing, and generating images need owner or editor access.

Does this replace ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Cursor, or Grok Bot?

No. Those apps still write the replies. Prompt Studio is the shared library they read and write. Once connected, you can say “save this to Prompt Studio” or “use prompt X from Prompt Studio” and the agent does it. Prompt Studio does not run the language model.

Do I need an API key?

No. Sign in with the same Prompt Studio Google or email account you use on the web and iOS app. The consent screen grants read and write access to your library. Disconnect later from the app you connected.

Open the library, or ask us

The connection uses the account you already have. Upgrade when you want image generation, more folders, or more storage.
